Dakota Fusion FC announces new head coach for the 2018 season.
Dakota Fusion FC welcomes Nick Becker as the head coach for the DFFC men’s team as they begin another run in the North Conference of the NPSL for 2018. Last season they completed a 9 – 5 season finishing second in the Conference and earning their first ever appearance in the NPSL National Tournament.
Coach Nick Becker is in his six year as the head coach for the University of Jamestown Jimmies. During his first year he provided the Jimmie soccer team with their most wins since 2005, and their first conference tournament appearance since 2005. Since the 2012 season, the program has produced double digit all-conference players as well as double digit academic all-conference selections. In the past five years the Jimmies have continued to break previous season records and making the conference championship in each of the past two years. Becker has also produced the offensive conference player of the year the past two years and freshman of the year in 2017.
Currently, Coach Becker is on Region Staff for Region II Girls ODP and Dakota ODP coaching staff.
Prior to Jamestown, he worked as the director of personal training for 2 years. During that time he coached for the South Dakota ODP program, Hub City Soccer club, and ran skills and conditioning camps. Coach Becker was also a graduate assistant at Northern State University for the women's soccer program from 2008-2010. Prior to that he played club, SD ODP, high school, and four years of college competition. He finished playing at Presentation College he was both an All American and an Academic All American.
In 2010, Coach Becker earned a Master's of Science in Education at Northern State University. Before that he earned a Bachelor of Science (Magna Cum Laude) in Health & Wellness, along with a minor in Coaching, at Presentation College in 2008. Coach Becker has taken a number of USSF coaching courses and currently holds his USSF “A” license.
Coach Becker currently resides in Jamestown with his wife Tonya and three kids. Layla(8), Liam(5), and Wesley(4).
